Job Introduction

BBC World Service Group is an international multimedia broadcaster, delivering a wide range of language and regional services on radio, TV, online with a big focus on mobile.

The BBC Russian Service Moscow bureau is looking for a Producer (Multimedia) to join the team on a continuing contract.

Role Responsibility

Working in a multimedia team of journalists, you’ll write and create original material for all multimedia output, including text stories, radio, video, TV reports, interactive and social media.

You’ll be responsible for moving a story on, amending and updating material as required. In order to do this, you’ll research, report, write, translate and adapt stories or programme material into Russian.  

You will be producing and presenting text items reports, packages, interviews and discussions, and also report in text, audio and video from the field from time to time in a range of formats.

The Ideal Candidate

With proven recent and relevant journalistic experience, you’ll have a wide and up to date knowledge of Russian and international affairs.

You’ll have Russian as your first (or equivalent) language, a full comprehension of English, and the ability to write, translate and adapt material accurately and to the deadline.

You’ll have the ability to write original material and adapt stories for multimedia output, and have experience of reporting in the field. It is also essential that you have a broad knowledge of the internet.

Suitable voice and presentation style are beneficial. You’ll also show an in-depth understanding of Russia’s history, politics, social issues and culture as well as the changing needs of the audience.
